What’s our favorite thing about summer? Summer weddings of course! Especially those that take place in the beautiful blooming outdoors. And with the start of the season just around the corner, we figured it’s time to start sharing some of our favorite warm weather wedding details. Starting with your guest giveaway, today we’re showing you how to make any wedding favor 100% summer ready. We’ve applied our creative trims to some pretty pink boxes but in theory they can go onto just about any container, making it instantly gorgeous and garden friendly. Here’s how to make the look yours.
The Supplies
- a wedding favor container of your choice + whatever filling you care to include. We used blush pink square boxes, perfect for holding a sweet summer treat.
- roll of faux moss
- decorative butterfly set
- woodland pretty design small rectangular tag
- mod podge and an applicator brush (any small paintbrush will do)
- all purpose glue
The How-To
Step 1: pull faux moss off its roll. Apply a layer of Mod Podge to the top of your box and a add an uneven application of moss to it. Make sure the layer of glue is thick enough to hold the moss, but not so think that it clumps and dries unevenly.
Step 2: using all purpose glue attach a butterfly to the top left corner of your box, on top of the moss.
Steps 3 & 4: again using Mod Podge, apply a layer of the adhesive to the middle point of the left side of your box lid, as well as to the front right and right front corners. Add moss. The completed overall moss application should give off an “overgrown” look. Finish with a personalized tag.
The End Result
xoxo.
