A special touch of tradition, colors that light up the room and beautiful intricate detailing on the traditional Cambodian attire make this wedding an undeniably romantic event.
Srey Um and Chris Hubbard were married on July 29, 2011 in sunny California, United States.
The Bride and Groom look amazing in their traditional Cambodian wedding day attire. The bold yellows, golds and greens with accents of pretty pinks and blues are incredible! And just look at all that jewelry — stunning!
A note from the photographer:
Chris and Srey were married over a 2-day span. The first day consisted of a traditional Cambodian Ceremony and the next was a Western Ceremony.
The details on the Traditional Cambodian attire was so intricate and beautiful that Chris and Srey seriously looked like Cambodian royalty.
The (Cambodian) ceremony consisted of monks that presided over the event and a narrator for the storytelling portion. The couple must have changed 4-5 times during this one day. There was a traditional part where the groom and guests bearing gifts walked from a neighbor’s house to Srey’s parents home all accompanied by musicians.
I just love how every intricate detail is captured so beautifully in these photographs. Sometimes it’s the little things you remember most, so Brides, try to find that fine line between obsessing over the small stuff and adding just a few extra special touches here and there.
This is definitely a wedding you don’t see everyday and absolutely opened our eyes to the Cambodian tradition…for this, we were so honored.
