Eva + Jay: Vintage Hollywood in the Rockies

As a follow up to Friday’s blog post, {Inspiration} Theme: Old Hollywood Love, this post features one of our favorite fab wedding themes in action!

In true Hollywood style, this couple really amped up the drama in their summer nuptials. A chic red, white and black color scheme, feather details, handmade personal touches, a remarkable landscape and stunning 1930s flair made this dramatic dream wedding theme a real life celebration.

Eva Martens and Jay Wong were married on July 1, 2010 in Jasper, Alberta, Canada.

I think the bride’s feathery hairpiece is so elegant and unique. What a fabulous veil alternative for this unconventional theme!

I absolutely adore her bouquet. The calla lilies and red roses really stood out against the black. And the jewels and feathers helped tie it all together, Old Hollywood-style!

And those shoes — amazing!

The bride’s sassy yet sophisticated dress suited her, her personality and the wedding theme to perfection! I think she looks fantastic!

The various Hollywood-style personal touches such as the “VIP” place cards really made the reception tables pop. Such a classic, glamorous and romantic wedding — love it!

A note from the photographer:

Eva and Jay had been engaged for a long time and finally decided to tie the knot in Jasper before Jay went back to war. He is in the Canadian military and is currently on a one-year mission. They had a vintage Hollywood wedding set in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Jasper National Park. It was an amazing way to spend Canada Day (their dating anniversary). The bride’s dress and most of the decorations were hand made or bought on Kijiji.

A big thank-you to Starshine Photography!
