Pocket folds, backers and embellishments. Labels, menus, hand fans and tote bags. And that’s just to name a few! Stationery options are a plenty and they go far beyond the must-have invite / rsvp duo. With all the possibilities available to today’s brides, it’s no surprise so many get stumped when first sitting down to decide what’s right for them. To help lighten the load and make sense of it all, we’re starting up a new stationery series, which will run throughout the month of January on every DIY Wedding Wednesday. We’re breaking down the options, the possibilities and offering up some guidance on what’s right for who. And for our first series post we’re taking it back to basics, walking you through the how-to for low, medium and high concept stationery suites.
Concept #1: Simplified.
Keep it simple, ultra budget friendly, and still lovely by going with a flat printed design that perfectly fits your overall wedding design. No additional details necessary. Weddingstar carries a wide range of options, in a variety of thematic designs, all sold complete with envelopes. Shop all the options here.

Concept #2: Take it Up a Notch
If you’re having a semi-formal affair, consider upping the formality and presentation of your standard wedding invitation and rsvp with the addition of backer cards. Adding color, dimension and texture to your core suite, easy to incorporate backer cards instantly bring the overall look of a stationery design up a level. For an added finishing touch, tie your pieces together with a color coordinated satin ribbon.

Concept #3: The Whole Package
If you’re going for an upgraded invitation suite, you’ll want to consider completing the look with upgraded envelopes. For ultra formal events inner pocket fold envelopes are recommended. Inner envelopes hold your invitation and rsvp card, complete with return envelope, providing for a formal presentation of the entire suite. For your outer envelope, which will hold your completed pocket fold, consider going with an upgraded stock quality in a pearl finish option that will nicely compliment the rest of your pieces.
