It’s the holiday season, which just so happens to double as the best time of year to work through some trial runs for your wedding day details. From perfecting place settings, to trying out centerpiece concepts, now’s the time to test and put your ideas to good use. In the spirit of strategic celebrations, today we’re sharing a how-to for a guest treat sure to be a hit at any holiday party or wedding, the Signature Drink Station. Whether you make it a mocktail or a cocktail, sweet refreshments perfectly presented will no doubt be enjoyed by all. Here are all the elements you need to pull off your mini bar.
- apothecary style drink dispenser
- alcohols of choice. For our recipes you’ll need cherry flavored vodka and white chocolate liqueur
- a mixer. We used cranberry juice
- stemware. We love the cute and compact mini martini glass
- a display cling personalized to feature the name of your signature drink
- candy striped paper straws
- cherry flavored candy sugar for rimming
Step 1: confirm with your venue that they’ll accommodate a specialty drink request (most will) and ensure that a bartender can be dedicated to servicing your drink station. If you are going with a non-alcoholic beverage you can skip the latter and treat your station as a self-serve option.
Step 2: come up with your signature drink recipe. Go with something that acts as an homage to the two of you, your favorite drink recipe for example, and if possible, have it color coordinate with your overall event color scheme. For our main recipe we went with a simple and delicious mix of cherry vodka and cranberry juice.
Step 3: come up with a name for your signature drink and have customized signage created to display it. We went with an Expressions Cling which fit perfectly onto the dispenser.
Step 4: flash forward to the day of and get set up! The first and main component is of course your drink, which should be featured in your dispenser. You can keep this as a non-alcoholic mix, so that even little ones can enjoy, and have your bartender mix in the alcohol to order. If you’re sure that everyone will enjoy a pre-mixed cocktail, then have all your ingredients added to the dispenser. Finish with ice to keep the mix cool.
Step 5: have a few pre-poured drinks setup as part of the overall presentation. Setup should occur just before the start of your cocktail reception, to ensure drinks are served chilled. Poured drinks should include all the trims, i.e. sugared rims and color coordinated paper straws. Rest should be poured and served to order.

Sweet Cherry Bliss
To an ice filled martini shaker add:
- 2 ounces cherry vodka
- 2.5 ounces cranberry juice
- few dashes of white chocolate liqueur
- mix components and pour into a sugar rimmed martini glass
- finish with a candy striped paper straw
