OK lovely readers, today we are putting a few DIY staples (the punch, the stencil and the x-acto knife) to some good work. We’re using them to transform simple paper table numbers into customized papier perfection. And not only is the end result super pretty, the how-to get there is ultra budget friendly and ridiculously easy to do. The hardest part no doubt will be deciding on which look to make yours!
Look #1: Sparkle and Dot
The Supplies
- tent style paper table number
- gold glittered card stock backer
- screw punch
The Step by Step
Step 1: for a uniform polka dot pattern draw out criss-crossed lines on the back side of your card. Work around the area where your number is by marking its position.
Step 2: screw punch your holes at the points where your lines intersect.
Step 3: adhere your backer using hot glue, glue dots, or whatever other adhesive you have handy.
Repeat process on the other side of your tent card.

Look #2: Peekaboo
The Supplies
- tent style paper table number
- gold glittered card stock backer
- x-acto knife
The Step by Step
Step 1: using an x-acto knife for precision, cut out your table number.
Step 2: adhere your backer using hot glue, glue dots, or whatever other adhesive you have handy.
Repeat process on the other side of your tent card.

Look #3: Gorgeous Greenery
The Supplies
- tent style paper table number
- stick on fern stencil (make sure the one you select is suitable for use on paper and won’t tear the paper when pulled away)
- green acrylic paint
- stencil brush
The Step by Step
Step 1: position and stick on your stencil to the top right corner of your card.
Step 2: apply paint. Let dry slightly for approximately 15 minutes and then pull away the stencil.
Step 3 (not shown): repeat steps 1 & 2 on the bottom left corner of your card.
Repeat process on the other side of your tent card.

Look #4: Pink Petals
The Supplies
- tent style paper table number
- floral punch
- glittered pink card stock backer
The Step by Step
Step 1: to ensure you get a centered floral pattern draw a line across the midway point of the back of your card.
Step 2: punch a floral pattern onto either side of your card, positioning the center of the punch to the center of your card.
Step 3: adhere your backer using hot glue, glue dots, or whatever other adhesive you have handy.
Repeat process on the other side of your tent card.

The Look #5: Pattern Play
The Supplies
- tent style paper table number
- stick on floral stencil (make sure the one you select is suitable for use on paper and won’t tear the paper when pulled away)
- pink and green acrylic paint
- fine tip paint brush
The Step by Step
Step 1: position and stick on your stencil to the left side of your card.
Step 2: apply paint, incorporating both pink and green into your pattern. Let dry slightly for approximately 15 minutes and then pull away the stencil.
Step 3 (not shown): repeat steps 1 & 2 on the right side of your card.
Repeat process on the other side of your tent card.
