A while back we did a post on DIY glittered tea lights that was a big hit with our brides. Because we can’t resist a repeat fan favorite, and because we love what a touch of glitter can do, we’re re-applying this simple to-do concept on one of our mini white vase sets. Whether used as a guest favor, or as part of your wedding day decor, these small stunners are sure to have a big impact with your guests. And for those of you looking for a simplified approach and look, we’re giving you another combo that’s just as lovely. Here’s how to pull together the two looks.
Look #1: Glitter Galore
The Supplies
- mini favor vases in white
- spray adhesive
- spreadable glue {we love mod podge!}
- glue dots
- masking tape
- paint brush
- glitter
- spray roses
The Step by Step – Pretty Polka Dots
Step 1: stick on your large glue dots, spacing them out all over your vase.
Step 2: dust on your glitter.
Step 3: using a clean paint brush, brush off all excess glitter.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 using small glue dots.
The Step by Step – Stripes and Solids
Step 1: wrap a strip of masking tape three quarters of the way down your vase.
Step 2: apply a thin even layer of glue.
Step 3: sprinkle on the glitter.
Step 1: wrap a strip of masking tape at the base of the vase, and just below the base of the bottle neck.
Step 2: apply a thin even layer of glue.
Step 3: sprinkle on your glitter.
Step 1: apply spray adhesive glue all over the outside of your vase.
Step 2: sprinkle on glitter, plugging the opening of the vase with your finger to avoid glitter entering the vase.
Look #2 – Keep it Simple
If you love the look of the vases but want a simplified version, go au naturel by eliminating the glitter. Mix and match the vase color options for your bit of pattern play and a lovely end result.
The Supplies
- mini decorative favor favors in lavender mist, white, blue breeze and glacier blue
- thank you tags in “the perfect match” and “candy colorful” designs
- white satin ribbon
- flowers of choice {we used white and pink astilbe, pink wax flower and blue muscari}
The Look
