Here’s a little DIY project that will have your friends asking “how did you make these?” These sweet chocolate rings are very easy to create and don’t require any special candy making tools. All you need is a diamond ring ice cube tray, some chocolate candy melts and maybe some music to dance to while your waiting for the chocolate to set!
- diamond ring ice cube tray
- chocolate candy melts in the color or colors of your choice (we used Wilton Candy Melts)
- microwave save container
Step by Step
Step 1. Melt chocolate in a microwave safe container as indicated on the candy melt package.
Step 2. Stir melted chocolate and pour into each of the diamond ring molds. Gently bang the tray on a counter top to make sure there are no air bubbles in the chocolate.
Step 3. Use a knife to remove any excess chocolate on the mold and set aside to cool for a few hours.
Step 4. Once the chocolate has dried completely you can pop the rings out. Work slowly so you do not break the rings. Tip: Pop the ring up and then slowly twist the ring free from the centre part of the mold.
Have fun with different colours of candy melts and experiment by combining colours. Here’s a tip for making candy rings with more than one color – allow each color to dry in the mold before adding another color.
You can decorate cupcakes and cakes with these chocolate candy rings for a bridal shower.
Here’s how these DIY candy rings were displayed at a styled party shoot for all the single ladies to wear … and eat!
