How To Be The Best Bridesmaid Ever

9784-08,9785-08,9786-08,9167-77,9535-79,9535-92

Being asked to be a bridesmaid is super exciting and an honor, but it does involve a lot more than just showing up on the day of the wedding. From financial expenses, emotional support and helping with planning it can sometimes be tough. But no worries, we have some tips that will make the whole process go smoothly. You’ll be a bridesmaid pro!

1. Be Upfront

If you are concerned about the financial costs or time commitment be upfront with the bride right away. Having a discussion early on before committing to being in the wedding party is the best way to go about things.

2. Be A Team Player

In a group of girls, there are bound to be disagreements along the way. Try your best to get along with the other girls and work together. The bride will already be stressed out with wedding planning and doesn’t need the added stress of her friends not getting along.

3. Don’t Delay Ordering The Dress

You may think you have lots of time, but the sooner you get the dress the better. Waiting to order your dress last minute will only stress out the bride even more. Don’t forget you may need to get alterations!

4. Budget

Often you will have quite a bit of time between when you are asked to be a bridesmaid and the day of the wedding. Keep in mind all of the expenses that go along with the role and make sure you budget accordingly. It’s always best to budget for a bit more than you think you will need, so you’re not in a tough spot when it comes closer to the wedding day.

5. Offer Assistance In Planning

Check in with the bride and see what you can do to help with the planning. There’s a lot that goes into planning for a wedding and the bride could use your help and support to help make things easier!

6. Consider The Bride When Planning The Bachelorette Party

If you’re helping plan the bachelorette party, make sure you plan the event according to what the bride would enjoy. Not everyone is into the typical bachelorette party night out. You can ask the bride what she would prefer to do to make sure she will be happy in the end! If she’s not into partying there are so many alternative ideas to choose from.

7. Be Prepared

Prepare for anything on the day of the wedding. Make a checklist beforehand of items to pack with you on the day of, and make sure you include an emergency kit!

DIY: Greenery Backdrop

image1

Clever frameworks are soaring in popularity and can be used to highlight your ceremony site, welcome area, sweetheart table or photo booth. On a budget, you can re-use this backdrop in multiple locations. Check out our simple DIY instructions on how to create your own lush greenery backdrop.

The Supplies:

The Step-By-Step

Step One:

You will need a frame to start. We recommend 6ft x 8ft. (Note: you want to use a frame that will be strong enough to hold the backdrop and greenery without warping. We have used PVC piping and painted it copper to achieve this look.)

image2

Step Two:

Using your wire or zip ties, begin adding greenery to the outside frame. Place as you see fit. We recommend using different types and shapes of greenery to achieve a look similar to the image above.

(Note: Ensure you have secured the greenery tightly to the frame, so it will not fall off during move.)

Step Three:

After you have placed all of your greenery, it is time to add your personalized greenery backdrop. Using wire secure the backdrop to the center of the frame, hanging approximately one foot below the frame itself. Once this is placed feel free to add more greenery as you see fit.

And presto! You have yourself a beautiful piece that blends the appeal of the outdoors with the indoors.

How To Choose The Perfect Wedding Venue

1269-0023-46,9797,9798,9501-03,9502-03,9583-08,0023-47

There are many elements that go into picking the perfect venue for your wedding day. Before you start looking at venues you should make sure you ask yourself certain questions that will make an impact on the venue you choose. We’ve put a list together of the Top 5 questions you should ask yourself before you start!

1.Know Your Guest List

You should have an estimate of how many guests you are planning on inviting before you look at venues. Knowing how many guests you will have will make it easier to know which venues will accommodate all of your guests. You don’t want to end up choosing a venue that is too small for your guest list. This will also help you with your budget.

2. Have  A Budget

Knowing what your overall budget is will be important when selecting your venue. You should have a specific budget for the total amount you want to spend on your venue. Don’t forget that depending on the venue, there may be extra costs other than just the rental of the space.

3. Know What’s Included

When choosing a venue, make sure you know what the cost of everything will be. Some venues are full-service and may charge per head. Other venues will allow you to bring in your own vendors and décor.  Weigh your options and choose venues to explore that will work with your budget.

4. Choose A Venue That Matches Your Wedding Style

When seeking out venues, think about your wedding style and theme.  Choosing a venue that fits with your theme will make it easier for your vision to come to life for your big day. If you are wanting a more modern themed wedding, choose a more modern venue. If you are wanting a more rustic or natural theme, choosing an outdoor venue or rustic barn style venue may fit better with your overall style.

5. Consider Your Guests

If you have many guests travelling from out of town or having a destination wedding, make sure the venue is close to the guest accommodations, and if needed have transportation set up for your guests to get to and from your wedding venue.
