Wedding Decor Ideas: Pretty on a Penny Part 2 – Making it Yours

decorative bottle vase sets - how to personalizse

This past Monday I shared with you all a few secrets to getting gorgeous and budget friendly floral wedding arrangements. The key component was a lovely bottle vase concept which I’m currently obsessing over ever so slightly! Today I’m going to show you how to take the look to the next level, personalizing it as your very own. Truth be told, there are endless ways to customize the look to meet your specific wedding design. And after much back and forth self-debating I finally narrowed it down to my top three style approaches, complete with some pretty petal suggestions.

Style Approach #1 – Charms, Trims and Things

The Components

The Completed Look

This approach is all about layering. Using whatever ribbon, fabric, twine or string you like to attach a decorative detail like a charm is the perfect way to both personalize the look and coordinate it with your overall wedding theme and design. And the details just scream pretty!

Style Approach #2 – Mix and Match

The Components

The Completed Look

There’s no real science to this approach. It’s as simple as playing around with various shapes, sizes and colors to bring dimension to your arrangements. The beauty behind it is that it allows you to represent all the design elements and colors within your wedding design. So go nuts and get creative!

Style Approach #3: A Personal Touch

The Components

What better way to personalize the look then by actually personalizing the look! Whether it’s through a motif, monogram, or a custom sticker, incorporating subtly personalized pieces within your wedding decor really makes the look yours. And don’t be shy about incorporating you. It’s your big day after all!

So that’s a wrap on on my top three. And whether you run with one of these approaches or something completely different, all that matters is that you apply your personal stamp. Happy styling!

xoxo.

Pretty on a Penny: Secrets to Getting Gorgeous {and Inexpensive} Floral Wedding Arrangements

Confession time. I like pretty things. Well, that’s no secret. I like pretty things and I’m willing to pay the price to get them. But, and here comes the confession, I LOVE pretty things when combined with deals and discounts! Maybe it’s the wedding planner in me who regularly builds budgets and gets thrills from coming in lower than expected. Maybe it’s the knowledge that I can take those saved pennies and put them to something else I really want. Whatever the reason, I’m a sucker for anything that looks high end without the hefty price tag!

If you’re like me, you’ll love today’s post. Not only is it a cheap and cheerful {don’t tell anyone I said that!} way to pull together gorgeous wedding floral arrangements, but it’s right on trend with what’s hot right now. It all comes down to two words, Bottle Vases, and here are the secrets behind the look.

LESS IS MORE

The simplicity behind the bottle vase design is what makes this look so lovely. The shape is sleek and where decorative details are featured, subtle accents have the opportunity to shine. Single stems look great which means you need very little to make an impact on your wedding day, and pretty petals easily pop.

A PLAY ON HEIGHTS

Nothing does more for a table set up than layers and dimension. Using groups of bottle vases in varying heights is an easy way to accomplish this design principle. Whether used on their own or incorporated into a grander wedding tablescape, the effect is gorgeous every time. And because each vase really only needs a single bloom, it’s a budget friendly look that can be applied to all your guest tables.

SUCCESS IN NUMBERS

If a beautiful bloom in a lovely little vase puts a smile on your face than that look x10 is sure to have you swooning! Pulling together groups of vases to form a cluster is a decorative approach that works for all wedding designs and themes. Individually each vase is the perfect detail for any set up. Grouped together the vases form a fantastic wedding centerpiece.
