Irene + Matt’s Mediterranean vintage inspired wedding is beyond gorgeous! I had the unique pleasure of talking with Irene all about her big day and it was treat to know what inspired such an amazing wedding design. With gorgeous purple accents, a bridal hairstyle that still has me breathless and fun photos that really show both Irene + Matt’s personalities, this wedding is the perfect inspiration for choosing wedding color palettes and themes. Congratulations you two!
Ally + Shaun had a gorgeous homespun wedding in Maine this past September. I love how their friends and family pitched in to help with all the DIY details that truly made their day unique! From the homemade treats to the laid back mason jar drinks, it’s simple to see Ally + Shawn’s personalities are woven into each part of their intimate wedding. Congratulations you two, it looks like it was a blast!
You couldn’t ask for a more picture perfect wedding day. I had the chance to talk with both the bride and the photographer, each of which filled me in on the magic of this wedding day (along with being absolutely lovely). Sarah + Simon really wanted to infuse their personalities into the whole day and with their plethora of DIY details they certainly did just that! In fact, they even told me they decided on their March destination wedding in breathtaking San Francisco after originally having planned on throwing a local October affair! With the backdrop of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge for their photos, the sightseeing tour bus they booked and their midnight trip to the bowling alley, their wedding is a treat to see and share! Enjoy!

Yeah! It’s the long weekend and I have an exclusive peek into our newest Weddingstar Style Lookbook, The Blue Color Story. It’s coming out right away, and I’ll have an entire post to fill you with wedding inspiration galore. But, until then, here’s a quick look to whet your appetite!
It is not too often that I receive a submission with a staged photoshoot, and less often that I will accept them. However this particular one is so incredibly stunning, there wasn’t a chance I was going to deprive all our fabulous readers!
This vintage but ‘not your Grandma’s wedding’ style shoot was submitted by Christy Whitehead Photography. I’ll let them explain, “This was a stylized shoot that we did at an old sawmill. We had tails for the groom and a lacy dress for the bride. Handmade cameos are featured on the cake. We even had an actual family marriage certificate displayed in a frame on the sign in table. We loved the idea of mismatched place settings and the feel of you pulled this stuff out of your grandmother’s trunk. [It is] very much a possible do it yourself project on a budget.”
The thing is, not every centerpiece has to be exactly the same. The one thing I absolutely love is how creative you can really be. It charms me to no end when I see a wedding that has forgone the use of the traditional flower centerpiece. I think that is why I tend to talk about them so often, I’m just hoping that someone reads my posts and is inspired to do something utterly unique to them, (and then of course send me oodles of fabulous photos that I can rave about)!

Your first instinct may be to gravitate towards lush fresh flowers for your wedding, however I would love to take a moment to talk about the delicate beauty that dried flowers can achieve.

I was absolutely delighted when Session Nine Photography submitted this wedding to us. I have been in the mood for a beautiful soft wedding, and that is exactly what they have given me.
The dulcet colors provide the groundwork for their delicate style and romantic atmosphere. They combine to create a natural ambiance with purple acting to draw your attention to the details. Continue reading
Happy Valentine’s Day one and all!
I hope you don’t mind, but with everyone at the office in shades of red and pink, we don’t really need even more showing up on our blog! I’ve decided to take a break from the holiday and treat you to something else instead.
With that in mind I hope you enjoy this collection of photographs that are meant to take you away from the hustle and bustle of today and present you with the possibilities that a stunning wedding in the countryside can represent.
