DIY Wedding Wednesday: Pretty in Pink – Potpourri Baggie Favors

potpourri baggie wedding favors

I’m pretty positive that the color pink was created specifically for weddings. From blush to pastel, with its intrinsic femininity and softness, pink is a perfect fit for a celebration of love. So it’s no surprise I often find myself working it into a DIY Wedding Wednesday post, and today is no exception. With just a little touch of pink, by way of the sweetest fabric rosette and pink button trim, we’ll be taking a little burlap favor baggie to a whole other level of pretty. And with the addition of some aromatic (and pink, of course) potpourri, we’ll come away with the loveliest of guest favors. Excited? I am! Here’s how to get the look.

The Supplies

The Step by Step

Step 1: cut your fabric ribbon into approximately a 4.5 inch strand and fold it over in the middle.

Step 2: roll the folded strand into itself, creating a rosette.

Step 3: to hold the shape, glue down the end point of your rosette.

Step 4: hot glue the rosette to your burlap baggie, centered just below the drawstring.

Step 5: paint your button a soft pastel pink.

Tip: use a glue dot or sticky tack to hold your button in place while you paint.

Step 6: once dry, hot glue your button to your baggie, below and to the right of your rosette.

Step 7 (not shown): fill your baggie with potpourri and finish off the look with a personalized tag attached with a mini clothespin clip.

DIY Wedding Wednesday: ‘Petite Pails’ {Wedding Favors}

diy mini pail favors

Time to share another couple of DIY wedding secrets. #1. Adding accenting layers of fabric to just about anything pretty much guarantees loveliness every single time. #2. Couple the concept with the daintiness of a mini package and you’ve got yourself ‘guest favor perfection’. Given I’m a huge sucker for anything mini, using one of the sweetest mini containers around, I was more than happy to pull together a few samples for some visual inspiration. From the playful to the surprisingly sophisticated, here’s what just a touch of fabric can do to change up the look of one petite pail.
