Product Showcase: A Twist on a Wedding Classic

guest book alternatives - pair canister

If you’re like me then hearing that a new design twist has been applied to a wedding staple is always reason to perk up and pay attention. Tradition is a lovely thing but the last thing anyone wants, especially for their wedding, is a repeat of what someone else had. As far as I’m concerned, there’s room for personality and customization in every detail of a couple’s wedding day. It’s pretty much a given that your decor, florals, stationery and even your favors will be tailored to your personal taste and style. But why stop there?! I say take your event to the next level and personalize every accessory making an appearance at your wedding.

To get your creative juices flowing, in today’s product showcase I’m saying farewell to the traditional concept of a guest book and saying hello to the ultra personalized alternative, the Wedding Wishing Well. Keeping with the same meaningful keepsake concept that a traditional book gives you, with a Wishing Well you not only get a unique design but it also comes with the added bonus of playing double duty as a great decorative piece for your home after your big day. It’s a win win situation really! For some visual reference (and eye candy), here are my top Wishing Well picks, all Weddingstar exclusives.

DIY Personalized Weddings: The Signature Stamp

diy-personalized-stamps

Ask a bride what she wants most for her wedding design and 9 times out of 10 she’ll tell you she wants a design that is unique to her and her fiance.  No bride wants her wedding to be comparable to, or another version of, someone else’s event. Her love story is personal and so should her wedding story be. But given all the details that go into pulling a wedding together, it can often be difficult for a bride to figure out how to really put her mark on it.

Good news. It need not be that complicated. It can be as simple as literally applying your personal stamp! From your wedding invitation to subtle decorative details, a personalized stamp leaves your mark in all the right places. Here are some of our top DIY recommendations on how to apply the look.

Sneak Peek

Your wedding invitation is a first glance at what your wedding day will look like. Leave your mark early on by using your personalized stamp as a DIY accent on your save the date, invite and reply card, or as a finishing seal on your envelope.

All in the Details

Stamping little decorative accents that pop up throughout your wedding day offers up a way to subtly connect your look and give it continuity.

Finishing Touches

Wedding guests have the pleasure of walking away from the event with a little gift. Your favor should both thank them and remind them of your wonderful day. Complete the look with your stamp on their sendoff.

Need More Convincing?

Lucky for you we love sharing inspiration! Here are some more ways to apply the look.

Wedding Decor Ideas: Pretty on a Penny Part 2 – Making it Yours

decorative bottle vase sets - how to personalizse

This past Monday I shared with you all a few secrets to getting gorgeous and budget friendly floral wedding arrangements. The key component was a lovely bottle vase concept which I’m currently obsessing over ever so slightly! Today I’m going to show you how to take the look to the next level, personalizing it as your very own. Truth be told, there are endless ways to customize the look to meet your specific wedding design. And after much back and forth self-debating I finally narrowed it down to my top three style approaches, complete with some pretty petal suggestions.

Style Approach #1 – Charms, Trims and Things

The Components

personalized bottle vases - charms and trims

featured here: decorative glass bottle set in clear (sold in sets of six assorted sizes), striped cotton baker’s twine in mocha mousse, ruffled fabric ribbon trim in pastel pink and antique key charms in double hearts, heart and intertwined rings shapes

The Completed Look

This approach is all about layering. Using whatever ribbon, fabric, twine or string you like to attach a decorative detail like a charm is the perfect way to both personalize the look and coordinate it with your overall wedding theme and design. And the details just scream pretty!

Style Approach #2 – Mix and Match

The Components

mix and match decorative bottle vases

featured here (from left to right): white glass bottle (sold in sets of 3), decorative glass bottle in clear (sold in sets of six assorted sizes), vintage inspired ceramic bottle in silver and lavender (sold separately)

The Completed Look

There’s no real science to this approach. It’s as simple as playing around with various shapes, sizes and colors to bring dimension to your arrangements. The beauty behind it is that it allows you to represent all the design elements and colors within your wedding design. So go nuts and get creative!

Style Approach #3: A Personal Touch

The Components

personalized white bottle vases

The Completed Look

What better way to personalize the look then by actually personalizing the look! Whether it’s through a motif, monogram, or a custom sticker, incorporating subtly personalized pieces within your wedding decor really makes the look yours. And don’t be shy about incorporating you. It’s your big day after all!

So that’s a wrap on on my top three. And whether you run with one of these approaches or something completely different, all that matters is that you apply your personal stamp. Happy styling!
