If you haven’t noticed, we’re big fans of DIY around here. We love the personal touch a bit of it brings to a wedding. We especially appreciate those tactics that are easy “to dos”. So today we’re sharing one of our top DIY tricks, the simple {and it’s really simple} addition of satin ribbon. Whether you’re looking to add a touch of color, a bit of personality, or a pop of pretty, just add ribbon!

With next to no restrictions on what you can apply it to, and with massive theme versatility, the use of satin ribbon is really the ultimate ‘no-brainer’. But just in case you need some visual convincing, here are some of our favorite simple uses that went a long way to up the pretty ante.

bling bouquets

It’s a sparkly kind of week for us working The Details Blog and we’re loving it! If you visited with us this past Monday you got the 101 on how to add bling to your wedding day. Today we’re taking it one step further, and upping the pretty factor, by taking what we know about bridal bling and applying it to bouquets.  And the best part? It takes so very little to add this touch of glam. So go on, get fancy!

The Necessities

Your Flower of Choice + Your Choice of Crystal Needle Accessories. And that’s it. We couldn’t narrow it down to anything less than two combos for our ‘how to’ so we’re sharing both!

The Look

The Supplies

We don’t recommend tackling your own bridal bouquet. Floral arrangements come with many challenges. Instead, work with a florist to create your ideal bouquet and infuse your personality by having the florist incorporate the crystal needle accessories that you’ve selected. That said, if  you’re of the crafty kind and know flowers well, here are the tools you’ll need to create the bouquets you’ve seen in this post.

bling bouquets - diy supplies

  • flowers of choice (we used pink ranunculus and pink parrot tulips)
  • any type of floral shear, to trim your stems
  • floral wire and tape, to keep the bouquet arrangement you create
  • scissors to trim your ribbon
  • ribbon and your choice of crystal needles to finish off the look and add the bling!

Tip: Before purchasing, make sure to confirm the crystal needle’s length will work with the type of flower you are using.

DIY Personalized Weddings: The Signature Stamp

diy-personalized-stamps

Ask a bride what she wants most for her wedding design and 9 times out of 10 she’ll tell you she wants a design that is unique to her and her fiance.  No bride wants her wedding to be comparable to, or another version of, someone else’s event. Her love story is personal and so should her wedding story be. But given all the details that go into pulling a wedding together, it can often be difficult for a bride to figure out how to really put her mark on it.

Good news. It need not be that complicated. It can be as simple as literally applying your personal stamp! From your wedding invitation to subtle decorative details, a personalized stamp leaves your mark in all the right places. Here are some of our top DIY recommendations on how to apply the look.

Sneak Peek

Your wedding invitation is a first glance at what your wedding day will look like. Leave your mark early on by using your personalized stamp as a DIY accent on your save the date, invite and reply card, or as a finishing seal on your envelope.

All in the Details

Stamping little decorative accents that pop up throughout your wedding day offers up a way to subtly connect your look and give it continuity.

Finishing Touches

Wedding guests have the pleasure of walking away from the event with a little gift. Your favor should both thank them and remind them of your wonderful day. Complete the look with your stamp on their sendoff.
