Some call it a Gerber Daisy, others a Gerbera, but either way it is one of my favourite flowers. It’s bold, beautiful and its large vibrant blooms will add color and life to any event. Somewhat less formal than roses, lilies and orchids – the Gerbera is what I consider a ‘fun’ wedding flower.
Even though today felt like the first real day of Winter, what with the world suddenly becoming covered in a glistening and slightly damp layer of white; I’ve decided I’m not quite ready to let go of Autumn. As such I have done a little digging and come up with a collection of photographs that will hopefully help to inspire you.
It is not too often that I receive a submission with a staged photoshoot, and less often that I will accept them. However this particular one is so incredibly stunning, there wasn’t a chance I was going to deprive all our fabulous readers!
This vintage but ‘not your Grandma’s wedding’ style shoot was submitted by Christy Whitehead Photography. I’ll let them explain, “This was a stylized shoot that we did at an old sawmill. We had tails for the groom and a lacy dress for the bride. Handmade cameos are featured on the cake. We even had an actual family marriage certificate displayed in a frame on the sign in table. We loved the idea of mismatched place settings and the feel of you pulled this stuff out of your grandmother’s trunk. [It is] very much a possible do it yourself project on a budget.”
I’m always saying things like ‘all you need is a little imagination’ or ‘ the possibilities are practically endless’. You may or may not believe me, but today I’m going to show you that those sentiments are exactly right. We have a simple product here at Weddingstar – the Baroque Frames. They are pretty straightforward, either black or gold, square or round, big or small. At first glance you see a nicely designed frame that may or may not fit in with your wedding decor.
Take a look again. What could you do with this simple product? Put a picture in it? – That’s what frames are for right? Well you could do that.. OR you could try out one of these 6 ideas we’ve put together to start you off!
A wedding as stunning as this is an incredible opportunity for me, I could never resist the urge to feature it! You can’t help but admire the vibrant color, bold patterns and carefully arranged details.
The photography is excellent and gives you a glimpse into an event that is more that just the union of two people, but the union of two families and a celebration of love.
