There’s one beautiful thing that links all weddings together. No matter if they’re an indoor or an outdoor event, an extravagant affair of 200 or an intimate gathering of 30, the nuptials of a couple of 20 somethings or a second marriage for a pair of 40 somethings, weddings at the heart of it all are the loveliest of celebrations. They’re a celebration of the quiet love felt between two people that just for a day a select few get to be a part of. Today’s color story is a tribute to all those love celebrations. Taking inspiration from the festivities that will be held across North America this week, with Canada Day tomorrow and The Fourth of July on Friday, we’ve created a patriotic and bold palette that translates into a sophisticated color combo perfect for a profusion of love. Cheers to all you love birds.
Happy St. Patty’s Day! We hope everyone is enjoying this cheerful holiday and taking the time to celebrate the beautiful heritage and culture of the Irish. We’ve got plenty of our own celebratory plans on the go, including the sharing of our newest color story board, Green Stunner. When we realized the next installment of our color inspiration boards fell on St. Patrick’s Day, we could not not feature green. Although we didn’t really need convincing to showcase the gorgeous hue.
The many shades of green can be used to form countless wedding color schemes. And whether used as a strong primary or as a calming accent, green always brings with it a little sense of magic and a lot of elegance. We went bold with our board, using emerald as our primary, accenting by lighter green tones, neutral greys and touches of sparkly metallics, and we think the end result is nothing short of stunning.
I seem to be excited a lot these days. And a great deal of that is because of all the new creative content I’ve had the pleasure of pulling together for the revamped ‘The Details’ wedding blog. And today is no different. Today marks the start of sharing custom color story boards, boards that are meant to get your creative juices flowing as you plan your own personal wedding design. Pulling together seemingly unrelated elements that combine to tell a story that inspires emotion is a creative activity that I adore. So yet again, I’m very excited!
Inspired by this first for the blog, I’ve selected a spring palette to kick things off. Featuring calm taupes and subtle greys to reflect the quiet awakening of life all around, and soft pinks and mint greens to represent the prettiness of the transition from winter to spring, this c0lor story is all about new beginnings.
