diy round up

Every Friday and/or Monday I have the pleasure of spending the day in the studio, creating and shooting a DIY for the upcoming Wednesday Blog post. I get to play with fun tools, fresh blooms and of course some great Weddingstar products. And I enjoy pulling together each and every creation. Wedding Planning Essentials: Making a Statement {On a Budget}

decorative wedding props

There seems to be a silly little misconception floating around in the world of weddings that in order to have a gorgeous event you need a huge budget. In actuality, nothing could be farther from the truth. While having a substantial chunk of change to put towards wedding day decor might make things easier, it definitely isn’t the only route to creating beautiful ambiance. It just takes a little bit of strategic designing. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite tricks of the trade to getting the look without spending a fortune, the use of decorative props.

Props come in many different shapes and forms, colors and designs, but they all do the same thing. They all act as unexpected extra touches of pretty that go miles and miles in their impact. Through selective use in choice spots props take a wedding design to the next level, acting as statement pieces without breaking the bank. Some of my personal faves? Decorative drawers and boxes, because of all their creative potential. And when you see them in use you’ll instantly know why. Be prepared to get inspired!
