stogies and shots - diy takeaway

We’re no strangers to lovely things here at The Details blog. From the prettiest of paper goods to gorgeous decorative details, lovely is simply our way of life. But up until recently, dabbling into all things dapper was a rarity. Things are about to change. Sparked by the addition of an extensive new giftware line, with plenty of options for the boys, the Weddingstar product range has just got a whole lot more guy friendly. And so the blog will follow suit. Two weeks ago we kicked things off by featuring the Ultimate Man Bar, spotlighting some of the best men’s gifts around, and today we’re rounding things off with the perfect guy giveaway, complete with stogies and shots. You’re welcome boys.

The How-To and The Look

This one is really as simple as 1-2-3. For your cigars, pair two, apply personalized labels, stack a matchbook on top and bind all with craft paper twine. For the mini whiskey bottles, own brew or bought, apply a sticker to the bottle, fill and place into your stamped linen baggie. And you’re done!

Wedding Theme Inspiration: Art Deco

art deco wedding

It has been a week of celebrating all things sparkly on The Details Blog, and we’re ending things off with a bang!  If you started your wedding planning at any point in the last year and picked up a bridal magazine, checked out a wedding blog, or visited Pinterest, there’s no way that you haven’t come across one or two {or 20!} Art Deco inspired wedding ideas. Brought into the spotlight by the ever popular 2013 revival of The Great Gatsby movie, the Art Deco wedding theme saw a massive comeback and continues to remain a top choice for 2014. And why not? Brimming with decadence and glamor, what’s not to love!

So today we’re sharing a peek into our very own Art Deco inspired wedding shoot featured in this year’s Weddingstar’s print magazine, complete with all the design details, elements and products you need to make the look yours. Get ready to indulge!

The Look – Glamor Galore

No room for shyness here! The Art Deco look is defined by the dramatic and the bold. It’s where Old Hollywood romance meets the pleasure of a bit of self-indulgence, and where sophistication is a must. It’s an unmistakably mature and confident look, and it’s definitely got us blushing!

The Design – Distinct Luxury

Only things that sparkle and shine need apply. The distinctively strong linear geometric shapes that make up an Art Deco design are softened up by golden dazzling details. Whether it be glittering accents or soft candlelight, all the elements come together to create an opulent and luxurious finish.

The Colors

Like few other wedding designs, this color palette is unchanging. Rich blacks and sparkling golds combine as the perfect combo to execute on this high end design.
