This past Monday we shared some of our favorite bridal bouquet inspirations and got rave reviews on one of our own DIY faux creations. So thanks to popular demand this week’s DIY Wedding Wednesday feature is dedicated to showing you a few creative ways of using permanent petals. And we’re pretty positive that when all of you homespun, shabby chic, rustic loving brides see how easy it is to pull these lovelies together, you’ll be lining up to incorporate them into your wedding day.
- pink fabric flowers (mix of small, medium and large)
- floral wire
- couple bridal pins
- ruffled fabric ribbon
The Step by Step
Step 1: gather the number of stems required to create your desired bouquet size, bend the stems to desired bouquet length and bind together with floral wire. We used 10 stems and bent to shorten them by approximately a quarter.
Step 2: wrap your stems together with the ruffled fabric ribbon. Start at the point at which you wired, secure with a bridal pin, and continue wrapping downward.
Step 3: secure your end point with a couple bridal pins. Make sure to point them upward and through the stems to secure the ribbon and to keep them away from your hands.
All it takes is one simple step! Fill up your chosen centerpiece vessel with enough stems to create a bountiful arrangement, bending your outer stems slightly to flow over the rim of your vessel. We used the French Provencal Enamel Pitcher which took 15 Stems.
The Flower Girl Wand
Another one step wonder! Simply tie on several strands of satin ribbon to the base of the flower head. Tie the ribbons in double knots to secure them and keep ribbons just slightly longer than the stem itself.
